About
At NUSYC we cater for sailors of all experiences, from those that know how to float on their back and swim a length of a pool, to those that dream of being part of an Americas Cup team. Our various teams will give you the chance to sail among the top sailors from all the top universities, with some of those sailors possibly going on to be Britain’s next Olympic sailors!
For those of you that are more into sipping Pimm’s on the deck, then the social or club sailing is more for you, with relaxed dinghy sailing on every Sunday, and some yachting trips up on the Clyde in Scotland.
We even cater for you landlubbers, with our extensive social calendar, meeting in the North Terrace every Wednesday evening, assuming we’re not doing something bigger.
Club sailing and team training take place at South Shields Sailing Club. Located inside the breakwater on the south side of the mouth of the river Tyne it provides sheltered sea sailing and is just 30 minutes on the Metro from the city centre.
